If y’all are anything like me, then you are OBSESSED with Netflix. But, my REAL obsession is with the Netflix Originals. Netflix not only has stepped their game up, but their budgets, as well. They now have some of the worlds biggest movie stars, starring in all of their Netflix Originals, and…I AM HERE FOR ITTTT!!!! Here’s my December list of what Netflix ORIGINAL movies I am obsessed with!

OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH! I don’t even know where to begin on this one. This Netflix original stars Jennifer Aniston (Rosie) who plays a former Texas pageant queen, and Danielle Macdonald (Willowdean) who plays her plus-size teenage daughter. Let me just tell you, go ahead and grab a box of tissues BEFORE this movie even begins…you’ll need it. You will laugh and cry, cry and laugh, laugh some more and end it crying. My pregnancy hormones definietly didn’t help, but whatev. This is a sappy, coming of age movie that you will watch over and over again. It’s about a former beauty queen (Aniston) who runs the local beauty pageant in a small Texas town. Well, when her daughter decides to enter the pageant just to spite her overwhelming mother and start a revolution, things don’t go completely as planned. This movie is full of hope for young girls, it’s full of laughs and tears for moms, it’s just full of life. This is based off the book ‘Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy, Netflix really took it home with this one. This is my #1 movie of December, and maybe EVER by Netflix.

This Netflix original stars Kurt Russell, and he plays the absolute BEST Santa, evahhhhh! Grab your kids, nieces, nephews, best friends kids, heck..I grabbed my husband and watch this movie. It is absolutely the cutest Christmas movie I’ve seen in a LONG time. Kurt Russell really does play the perfect role as Santa, and I never imagined I’d be saying that. This movie (if you haven’t already seen it) was streamed MORE than 20 MILLION times its first weekend Netflix released it. WHOA!!! It’s about 2 siblings who scheme up this plan to catch Santa in the act after catching a glimpse of him on a home video from years prior. Little do they know, they are about to embark on the adventure of their lives when they get to spend the entire night with Santa TRYING to fullfill his duties. IT IS SO CUTE!! Not to mention, the elves are absolutely the cutest things I have ever seen or heard! (Word on the street is Netflix might be getting ready to make an elves spin-off next) GREAT CHRISTMAS MOVIE!

This Netflix original stars Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer, and I found myself really enjoying this movie. After she (Bell) is left at the altar, she decides to embark on her honeymoon anyways. She ends up on her romantic Caribbean cruise with her estranged father, and that’s when things start to get interesting. This movie was very comfortable. You don’t know quite what to expect, but it’s very relatable. Not too dark, not too funny, not too light, just right. Kelsey Grammer plays the perfect role as her estranged father and you’ll really just want to jump through the screen at both of them at different times. The only thing I’m upset about is not watching it sooner!

Y’all..this movie is a lot darker than you May think. Especially with an all-Star funny cast like this. It features: Dax Shepard, Tim Allen, Jessica Alba, Kurtwood Smith. It’s a dark/raunchy type Christmas movie. It’s definitely not a feel good movie, so don’t come watching this one for that. This movie is about a young man who seeks out a father he has never met and through no fault of his own, ends up barricaded in a liquor store with five other people on Christmas Eve. The story takes place in the fictitious town of El Camino, NV. But- with a cast like this, you must see it! ALSO- heads up…DO NOT WATCH THIS WITH YOUNGER CHILDREN.
