2019 is a year of making NO MORE EXCUSES. That’s right. I’m going to actually DO what I set out to do.
I went to the gym two days ago, and while I was there I ran into a friend from high school. “How do you find time to make it to the gym with all those kids you have?”
My response? “It ain’t easy! I can usually only make it for 20-30 minutes” But really, I only have TWO kids…it’s not like I have a baseball team at home. And if we are being honest, I can probably find more time in my schedule, but have I been doing that? NOPE!
I have two kids. That are decently well behaved. So why do I use them as an excuse to not do what I need to do for MYSELF?
When we don’t take care of ourselves, how can we expect to take care of our tiny humans?
Well no more. This year I will no longer make excuses for this “baby weight”, I will no longer make excuses that “I have no time”. This year, I will do what I need to do for MYSELF!!!!
Working from home with two kids is not easy, and it leaves very little time to get done what “needs to be done”. Or does it? Maybe that’s just an excuse!
Focus on the Good
My post last week was about how I was starting this year with a positive vision and that I am going to focus on all the good things that I want to do or all the changes I want to make. And this year, I am going to do just that! I am going to work towards my goal of what I really want!!!
Okay, I know! Days at home with two kids can be beyond hectic, and somedays you are lucky to make it through! But stop focusing on the bad, and turn your attention to the good.
I have made plenty of excuses throughout the past few years – but if we are being honest, I can MAKE time!
I can wake up at 5:00 am and go to the gym before my husband leaves for work at 6:30. Actually, I used to do this. Before I started making excuses.
I can put my phone down, and do an at home workout teaching my kids the importance of health, which I used to do before I started making excuses.
I can stop eating so much pizza and drinking less wine and start eating healthier and drinking more water, which is what I used to do before I started making excuses.
We are all guilty of this. We talk about how much we want something, but then when it comes down to it, we don’t actually work towards that goal.
No More Excuses
Be Basic. Be the “New Year, New You” person. It’s okay! This is for YOU. Nobody else. We all love to start somewhere, and with a new year ahead there is no better time than now.
So get out there. Set your goals. Make a vision board. And make No Excuses!!! This year is your year!!!
